Panel discussion organised by the Danish Red Cross

Ingvild Bode contributed to a panel discussion organised by the Danish Red Cross on the occasion of 75 years of the Geneva Convention. Together with Kevin Jon Heller (University of Copenhagen), Richard Lennane (ICRC), and Iben Yde (Rethink Advisory), she discussed the continued significance of the rules of war in light of future warfare and the integration of autonomous and AI technologies in weapon systems.

Project launch and first in-person project meeting in Boston

The HuMach team met for its first collaborative meeting in Boston, hosted by collaborator Professor Denise Garcia at Northeastern University. The meeting allowed to core HuMach team (Ingvild Bode, Katherine Chandler, Denise Garcia, Hendrik Huelss, Anna Nadibaidze) to plan ahead for the next four years and coordinate divisions of labour across the work packages.
Ahead of the project meeting, Ingvild Bode also had the chance to publicly launch the HuMach project as part of the roundtable “The Future of Global Governance on AI: Challenges and Processes”, organised by the Center for International Affairs and World Cultures at Northeastern University. The panel also included Professor J.P. Singh (George Mason University) and Anna Nadibaidze (SDU). The event was moderated by Professor Denise Garcia (Northeastern University).
